Educational outreach
CHILDREN’S TOURS
The Museum offers school tours by appointment, tailored to fit certain grade levels. Teacher/Docent coordination provides the students with a meaningful look into the past.
The docents that visited the classrooms were Arlene Johnson and Denise Vandenberg. The community volunteers included Susie Apkarian, Sheryl Fields, Madeleine Gallager, Marjorie Hamon, Tom and Bonnie Hewitt, Ron and Nancy Johnson, Dan and Karen Jones, and Cindy Rankin.
Thank you all! And special thank you to Carol Kenyon of the PRSD and the 4th Grade Teachers who warmly welcomed us!
FOURTH GRADE PROGRAMS
Education is an important mission of the Historical Society. In the Spring of 2019, a booklet on the history of Paso Robles was created for students. It was the work of Bob Lata and artist Hellie Blythe. Docents and community volunteers visited 19 classes of 4th graders for a total of 477 students and spoke on our history. The students were excited to receive the booklet as a keepsake.
